Tim Tam Tarts . I have been trying to prove to myself that there isn’t anything I cant cook in the slow cooker. For Australia day I made these Tim tam tarts in my slow cooker. Well actually I made 2 in the slow cooker and 2 in the oven, just to make sure if they didn’t work, I would have something to fall back on. The ones in the oven tasted a little over done, but they were still delicious and the ones done in slow cooker just melted in the mouth. I know which method of cooking I prefer 😍
Ingredients:
200g packet Tim Tams
30g unsalted butter, melted, cooled
200ml pure (thin) cream
200g dark chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 egg yolks
Directions:
•Put slow cooker on high.
•Grease four 8cm loose-bottomed tart pans.
•Smash Tim Tams into fine crumbs.
•Remove 3 tablespoons of the tim tam crumbs and set aside.
•Add melted butter to tim tam crumbs and mix well.
•Press crumb mixture into the base of pans and chill for 15 minutes.
•Place cream in a pan over low heat and bring to just boiling point. Remove from heat.
• Add chocolate and stand for 1 minute to melt, then stir until smooth.
•Cool chocolate mixture, then add vanilla & yolks & stir to combine.
•Pour chocolate filling into tart cases and place in sc with them raised off bottom.
•Cook in slow cooker with tea towel under lid, for roughly 50 minutes, or until just set.
•Refrigerate tarts in their pans until completely cool.
• Serve with leftover tim tam soil, cream and berries.
