Slow Cooker Pea & Ham Soup.
Ingredients:
1.5kg ham hocks
1 large onion, diced
2 large carrots, diced
4 celery stalks diced
1 pkt green split peas
Water to cover, about 3/4 full of a 6.5L slow cooker
Directions:
Throw it all in, turn on low. I left it for 8 hours. At about the 6 hour mark I removed the hocks, peeled the skin off & discarded it. Shredded the meat with two forks.
I whizzed the soup with my slender blender in the slow cooker. Still leaving some chunky veg. Returned shredded meat to the soup. Left it in there for a couple more hours.
Served with garlic bread.
