Slow Cooker Pea and ham soup….

Ingredients:

1 ham hock
2 cups yellow split peas soak if you like mushy.
1 large carrot
2 celery stems
1 x brown onion
1 x bay leaf
8 – 10 cups water if you want a bit more liquid

Instructions:

Rinse and soak split peas
(I dont soak, I use an old school potatoe masher at the end to mush it all up)
Chop all your stuff up small
(I use pre cut woolies vege medly to cheat the chopping)
Put peas on bottom then dump in vegies and hock.
Add the water and chuck it on for 8 hrs low.
Last min pull the hock out carefully as it falls to bits. Take all fat off & then pull the meat apart, throw it back in. Mix all up and give it a mash if u want it thick. Or blitz with a wizzy thing.
All done….serve with bread. And red wine.
