Slow Cooker Steak Pie! (filling)
Ingredients:
1.2kg stewing steak
4 onions diced
2 handful mushrooms chopped
1 litre Beef stock (you could change this to an ale or Guinness if you fancy!)
2 tablespoons Mixed herbs
2 tablespoon Worcestershire
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1 tablespoon Flour
2tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
Jus roll Pastry
Instructions:
Fry the onion with the herbs
Add beef and flour fry till seared
Add everything to the slow cooker (apart from Bisto)
Cook for 6 hours on low then add 1 tablespoon of Bisto and mix.
Cook for another 2 hours on low.. should be nice and thick.. you can add more bisto if needs to be thicker.
This is enough for 2 large pies so use what you need and freeze the rest!
Put into Pie dish & top with pastry (I glaze with egg) & bake at 200 for 30/40 mins in oven!
This recipe is very forgiving so you can mess with the amounts and add extra veg to mix.
